Family Outdoor Adventures Weekend
Bring your family and join hosts Chris and Courtney Hohnholt and their three daughters on a hike of the Swedetown Gorge at the Maasto Hiihto Trails in Hancock from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14. The outing will begin at the chalet near the Houghton County Fairgrounds. Joan Chadde, representing the Western UP Center for Science, Mathematics and Environmental Education, will bring a first-aid kit, binoculars, a variety of ID books, magnifiers, and pencils and supplies for the nature journals.

Joan Chadde and Lloyd Wescoat of the Center for Science and Environmental Outreach attended the annual conference of the Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Education Oct. 8-10 at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Chadde contributed two presentations and one teacher workshop. Chadde also attended the Midwest Environmental Education Conference, hosted by the Environmental Education Association of Illinois at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, Oct. 15-17. Chadde contributed one presentation.
