ED 529, June 11-16, 2000

This course is designed to bring together professional teachers, undergraduate students that are interested in secondary science education, and undergraduate geoscience majors to participate in a 2-week long field course. Exposures of Pennsylvanian/Cretaceous rocks in five national parks and monuments in southeastern Utah will be the sites of investigations conducted during the course. This institute will prepare teachers to help students describe the earth's surface; describe and explain how the earth's features change over time; and analyze effects of technology on the earth's surface and resources.

This Institute also has it's own site at http://www.geo.mtu.edu/~jeh/Utah_Geology.html.
